The Criminal Court has said that the remand of six people arrested in connection with the October 3 rally cannot be reviewed.
The court said, "circumstances have not changed" after refusing to review their detention.
The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) lawyer Ahmed Mauroof told Adhadhu that the detainees were fully cooperating with the investigation.
They earlier went on a hunger strike to protest against the unlawful detention and unfair treatment.
Mauroof accused the police of delaying the investigation and refusing to provide medical care. He also said police broke Maafushi Council President Hassan Solah's thumb after taking him into custody.

Addu City Councillor Hassan Zareer and Mohamed Khalif were also arrested from the rally. But Zareer was released without a remand hearing while Khalif was released on condition that he cooperate with the investigation.
Thousands of people flooded the Artificial Beach in Male' on October 3 and tried to peacefully march along Majeedhee Magu. But riot police used pepper spray and sonic weapons against the demonstrators.
