Ten awards conferred at Maldives Tourism Awards

Eight facilities providing tourism services have been conferred awards at the Maldives Tourism Awards.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of former Tourism Minister late Hassan Sabir and tourism industry pioneer late Umar Manik.

The third edition of the Maldives Tourism Awards was held at the Barcelo Nasandhura Hotel in Male'.

Award winners

  2. Conrad Maldives - Outstanding Contribution to HR Development Award.
  3. Joali Muravandhoo Maldives - Outstanding Contribution to Community Engagement Award.
  4. Jolly Being - Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Sustainability Award.
  5. Hotel Jen - Outstanding Contribution to Community Engagement Award.
  6. Hotel Jen - Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Sustainability Award.
  7. Kaani Hotels - Outstanding Contribution to Community Engagement Award.
  8. Triton Prestige - Contribution to Environmental Sustainability Award.
  9. Voyages Maldives - Ministry of Tourism and Environment Excellence Award.
  10. Best Dives - Ministry of Tourism and Environment Excellence Award.

This year’s award received 84 applications from 43 facilities. These include resorts, hotels, guesthouses and tourist vessels.

At the awards ceremony, Tourism and Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim called on everyone to work together to promote the tourism industry in the Maldives.

He announced that next year's awards will recognize those who contribute to the empowerment of women and the promotion of culture and handicrafts.
