Thoriq Ibrahim and Adam Shareef Umar, who were recently removed from the Cabinet, along with Dhiyana Saeed—who campaigned in favor of the government during the referendum—have been appointed as Ambassadors-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry.
Although the government has yet to officially announce the appointment of these three individuals to senior positions within the Foreign Ministry, the news has been confirmed.
Among the three newly appointed Ambassadors-at-Large, Thoriq and Adam Shareef were previously compelled to resign by President Mohamed Muizzu, who stated the move was necessary to govern "in accordance with the people's pulse."
The reappointment of these two individuals to government positions comes less than two weeks after Muizzu decided to remove them from their ministerial posts for allegedly being on the "underperforming" list.
Former Attorney General Dhiyana, who was also appointed to the Foreign Ministry, had not previously held a position in this administration. However, she has worked closely with the government since the period leading up to the referendum to merge the two key elections.
