Journalists held a silent protest in front of the President's Office today.

On the occasion of World News Day and World Right to Information Day, journalists protested for an hour starting from 1:30 pm.

Journalists from Adhadhu, Dhauru and Mihaaru took part in the demonstration with their mouths taped to condemn the government's attempt to control the media.

They carried posters with slogans against limiting freedom of expression and demanding the disclosure of information under the RTI law.

The journalists rejected the media control law and called on the government to immediately repeal the unconstitutional legislation.
