Police have said a man found dead near the Hulhumale' water theme park area on Monday night is likely to be a missing foreign national.
Police said the man's body had decomposed and his identity had not been confirmed yet.
But initial findings suggest the man is likely to be a foreign national reported missing since August 21.
Police did not reveal his nationality or any other details.
Some news websites reported that the missing foreign national was Nepalese, but the police did not confirm this.
Suspicious deaths have been on the rise in Male' region recently. In some of the cases, police have conducted post-mortems on the bodies.
