Preliminary findings and information have been gathered in the criminal investigation into the June 1 power outage in Male', Hulhumale' and Hulhule'.
Police told the media that the investigation was ongoing based on the preliminary findings.
Electricity was restored after about five hours. As a result, schools and a lot of businesses were closed.
The investigation was ordered by President Mohamed Muizzu as the prolonged power cut had disrupted life in the capital city.
According to information gathered by Adhadhu, there have been more than 40 power outages in Male' since June 1.
A power outage on Saturday lasted for about two hours. State Electric Company (STELCO) claims the power cuts are caused due to technical issues and upgrades.
