First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has announced the establishment of her non-governmental organization (NGO).
She made the announcement at the seventh edition of the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative (MFFLI) committee meeting last week.
Sajidha addressed key social issues during the meeting and said her NGO was founded specifically to address these issues.
She expressed her appreciation for the work being done by the Merck Foundation to improve the capacity of the health sector in the Maldives.
Former First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim, wife of former President Abdulla Yameen, established the Sadhaqath Foundation NGO.
The NGO was funded by government companies at the time and was accused of many corrupt practices.
