Man killed in collision between motorcycle and car in Addu

A man was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a car on the Feydhoo link road in Addu city on Saturday.

Police said the motorcyclist, 36-year-old Ibrahim Siyad, had died by the time he was taken to Feydhoo Health Centre.

The car driver, 23-year-old Mohamed Mahil Mumtaz, was taken into police custody.

Police did not give any further details. It is unclear whether the driver and the cyclist had licenses.

However, police said the accident was being investigated.

It was the second death in a road accident on Saturday. A 30-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident in Laamu atoll earlier in the day.
