The police and the military have not provided any information about the anti-terrorism operation that started in the Male' region two weeks ago.
Security forces launched the operation after receiving information on a threat and three suspects were detained.
They first searched lorries passing near the Republic Square area. One of the suspects was driving a lorry near the location when he was detained.
Other locations that were searched include a Vinares apartment, a house on Shabnam road, a house near Henveiru Stadium, a house near Raalhugandu area and Farukolhufushi area in Hulhumale' Phase 1.
In a statement to announce the operation, police said more information would be disclosed as the operation progresses. But, so far, authorities have remained silent.
Police have recently been disclosing the names and photos of those arrested for serious crimes. It is unclear why they have not followed this practice with those arrested during the operation.
A police comment was unavailable as the spokesperson did not answer phone calls.
