Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem has met with the Saudi Arabian Hajj and Umrah Minister Dr. Tawfig Al-Rabiah and signed this year's Hajj agreement between the two countries.
The meeting took place on Sunday during Shaheem's official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Tawfig.
Speaking at the meeting, Shaheem said Saudi Arabia's annual Hajj exhibition has modernized Hajj management. He also noted that a special annual conference on Hajj and Umrah was launched in Maldives in 2024.
During the meeting, Shaheem thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for their efforts to improve the services provided to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
He further highlighted the assistance provided by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to solve the difficulties faced by Maldivian pilgrims.
Before concluding the meeting, he invited Tawfig to visit the Maldives.
This year's Hajj agreement was signed between the two countries after the meeting. It is an agreement between Saudi Arabia and pilgrim countries every year.
The agreement includes establishing a special mission to take people to Hajj and the administrative procedures.
