Male' Maldives: Revival Sports Club has given their star, Nibal Ahmed, an opportunity to train in Indonesia.
The national badminton team star, Nibal, joined Revival in April last year on a four-year contract. Nibal also underwent training in Malaysia last year, an opportunity provided by Revival.
Nibal, who competed in several international tournaments last year after joining Revival, won a men's doubles bronze medal in the Botswana tournament alongside Zayn Zaki.
In preparation for this year's tournaments, Nibal will undergo a month's full-time training in Indonesia at the Sony Dwi Kuncoro Badminton Training Centre in Surabaya.
Nibal, who won the national title in 2022, has been a consistent performer in the last two editions of the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG), where the country's men's team won a silver and a bronze medal.
