Botswana: Revival Sports delivered another strong chapter in their African Tour campaign, securing both silver and bronze medals at the Botswana International 2025.
The women’s doubles team of Fathimath Nabaha (Naba) and Aminath Nabeeha (Naby) advanced to the final with a dominant semi-final performance, while the mixed doubles pair Zayan Zaki and Naba earned bronze after reaching the last four.
In mixed doubles, Zayan and Naba put on a composed display in the quarter-finals, defeating Botswana’s Tumelo Moilwa and Keletso Ntebela 21–18, 21–13 to secure a semi-final berth and guarantee a medal.
Their campaign concluded against South Africa’s Robert Summers and Amy Ackerman, sealing the bronze medal, the pair’s fourth BWF podium finish. Their growing résumé now includes gold medals from the 2019 Pakistan International and 2025 Zambia International, last year’s silver in Botswana, and this year’s bronze.
The standout highlight for Revival came in the women’s doubles, where Naba and Naby continued to establish themselves as one of the Maldives’ most successful pairs. They swept aside Botswana’s Tessa Kabelo and Tebogo Ndzinge 22–11, 21–7 in the semi-final to book their place in the final. In a tightly contested championship match, they fell 21–19, 13–21, 15–21 to South Africa’s Amy Ackerman and Johanita Scholtz, finishing with a well-earned silver medal.
This marks the Maldivian sisters’ 14th international medal together, comprising 4 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze. Their silver in Botswana comes just days after claiming another at the Zambia International, further highlighting their consistency and elite form.
With another pair of medals added to their tally, Revival Sports continues to elevate the standard of Maldivian badminton, reinforcing their growing presence on the international stage.
