Malé, Maldives: The Maldives Veterans Cricket Team is scheduled to play friendly matches against a British team next March, as part of the British team's visit to the Maldives.
According to the recently released Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) annual calendar, the two matches will take place on March 11 and 13.
Last year, the Maldives Veterans Cricket Team clinched the title in the Super Veterans category at the Hua Hin Sixes tournament in Thailand, while the Maldives Masters team secured second place in the Masters category.
In addition to the veterans' fixture, the Maldives National Cricket Team is set to compete in two major Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournaments this year.
The first is the ACC Challengers Cup, scheduled for April, where countries ranked 14th to 24th in Asia will battle in a 50-over format. The champions and runners-up will secure spots in the ACC Premier Cup in 2026.
Another key event on the calendar is the ACC U16 East Cup, scheduled for May. Eight teams will compete in this 50-over tournament.
The domestic cricket season in the Maldives will kick off with the National 50-over tournament in January.
Other major domestic events include the Ramadan Cricket Carnival in March, a Veterans Cup in May, and the T20 Championship, T20 Premier League, and President’s Cup in June, July, and August, respectively.
Fuvahmulah City and L. Kunahandhoo will host competitions and events throughout the year.
