Male, Maldives: The Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) has approved a 7.3 million rufiyaa budget for 2025 following a crucial meeting with its member clubs.
As per recent amendments to the CBM statutes, it is mandatory for the association to finalize and approve the budget for the upcoming year in a meeting held before the end of the current year.
To comply with these regulations, CBM held a meeting last Thursday where the 7.3 million rufiyaa budget was approved. This amount represents an increase of 1.2 million rufiyaa compared to the current year's budget.
The targeted receivable amount for the next year is 7.17 million rufiyaa.
According to CBM, the primary goals of the budget are to enhance the junior cricket standards in the Maldives and to improve the country’s cricket infrastructure.
CBM President Mohamed Faisal emphasized the importance of adhering to the amended statutes and finalizing the budget on time.
He stressed that a significant portion of the budget will be allocated to the development of future cricketers, with a dedicated program aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent.
Faisal also reassured that the budget would be spent transparently and effectively, in line with the recent changes to the CBM statutes.
He expressed confidence in his executive team, ensuring that the association would carry out its responsibilities effectively for the benefit of Maldivian cricket.
