Fathimath Ashan has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM).
The position became vacant after the resignation of Ismail Suhail on November 26. Suhail had been serving as MD since his appointment on December 5, 2023.
Adhadhu understands that Suhail resigned amid an ongoing investigation by the State Trading Organization (STO) into allegations against him.
FSM, a subsidiary of STO, is responsible for importing and distributing oil across the Maldives.
Ashan previously served as General Manager and Head of Human Resources at STO, as well as Deputy CEO of MIFCO.
She completed a Diploma in Business Information Technology at the Hobart Institute of Technical and Further Education, Australia, from 1993 to 1994 and received the Government Special Award in 1995.
In addition, Ashan graduated first in her Master of Business Administration program at KDU College, Malaysia, from 2002 to 2003, earning another Government Special Award in 2004.
