The Business Center Corporation (BCC) on Thursday opened the opportunity to apply for loans under the Creative Economy Fund.

The BCC said the loan application was opened under the government's policy of providing financial assistance to innovative and talented workers. The funds will be disbursed under BCC's Project Based Financing Scheme.

Under the scheme, amounts between MVR 50,000 and MVR 300,000 will be issued. The BCC has also published rules on repayment.

The fund will be disbursed in four main categories - filmmaking, music production, art and craft and content creation.

The Creative Economy Fund was launched by the government on September 18. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the decision to build a creative economy in January.
