Semi-final will present a new challenge, but we are confident

Malé, Maldives (September 10): Maldives National Women's Volleyball Team coach, Sofwan Ahmed, noted that the upcoming semi-final of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Challenge Cup will present a different challenge compared to the league round.

This evening's first semi-final will feature league round champions Kyrgyzstan against bottom-placed Afghanistan. Later, the second semi-final will see host Maldives face off against Tajikistan, ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

"The semi-final will be a different scenario compared to the league round. Our goal is to win in straight sets against Tajikistan. We have some areas to improve, and we will work on those as a team," Sofwan said.

Maldives previously defeated Tajikistan 3-1 in their league round clash.

Sofwan encouraged fans to come out in support at the Social Indoor Hall to help the Maldives National Women’s Team achieve their goals.

Setter Juuzan Zareer highlighted significant improvements in the team’s fitness since last month's CAVA Nations League competition in Nepal.

She expressed her appreciation for the support received at home and urged fans to continue their support in the upcoming matches.

"Every game from here on is like a final," Juuzan stated.

The Maldives National Women’s Volleyball Team is receiving widespread praise for their efforts.
