Malé, Maldives (September 1): Maziya Sports & Recreation Signs Teenage Sensation Mohamed Ilan Imran to Long-Term Deal
Maziya Sports & Recreation has secured a long-term contract with the rising teenage star Mohamed Ilan Imran.
At just 15 years old, Ilan is the latest addition to bolster Maziya S&R’s squad for the upcoming season and beyond.
The Green Boys have also signed Ahmed Aiham (Fathoa), a talented young player from Super United Sport (SUS).
Ilan, who trained with Maziya S&R and the Maldives senior national team last year, is currently preparing with the U17 National Team for the SAFF U17 Championship and AFC U17 Qualifiers.
Known for his goal-scoring prowess, Ilan made a name for himself with standout performances in the U14 Youth League in 2022 with Valencia, scoring 35 goals in eight matches, and in the U15 Inter School Competition in 2023 with Iskandhar School, where he netted 38 goals in six matches.
Last year, Ilan played for Club Valencia in the top tier of Maldivian football and made history as the youngest scorer in Dhivehi Premier League history with a goal against Club Green Streets.
He has also trialed with UAE's Al Ain and represented Maldives' age-group national teams.
Maziya S&R has promoted Anoof Abdulla and Mohamed Iman Ahmed to the senior team and appointed Serbian coach Dragan Dukanovic as head coach.
Maziya S&R team will commence pre-season training today in preparation for the AFC Challenge League, scheduled to start in late October.
