The Ministry of Homeland Security has said that MVR 182.9 million was paid since a list of companies that owe quota fees and work permit fees was publicized.
In a post on X on Tuesday, the ministry said "MVR 182,954,572 has been recovered" since the government started publicizing those who failed to pay the fees.
The list, announced on July 24, includes 1,026 companies. They are companies that owe more than MVR 100,000 as quota fees, work permits and fines.
While the list was publicized on the orders of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the list includes some companies belonging to government officials and MPs.
