Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has criticized Arab leaders over the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
In a post on X, Maumoon said Arab leaders are doing nothing while hundreds of people are being killed in Gaza every day.
"Every day hundreds of innocent Gazans are being killed mercilessly by Israel. Arab leaders are watching. They are doing nothing. There is no end to the sadness," Maumoon wrote.
He had previously expressed his sentiments on X and raised questions over the failure of the international community to stop the genocide.
The genocide in Gaza has killed nearly 40,000 people since October 2023. Most of the casualties are children and women.
There has been no progress in the efforts to stop the attacks. Israel, allied with the United States, has refused to agree to a ceasefire.
Arab countries have also worked to some degree to stop the attacks but there are accusations that Arab leaders were putting their own interests first.
