Text messages seeking a one-time password (OTP) after the hacking of the Housing Development Corporation's (HDC) database are under investigation, police said yesterday.
Incidents of messages sent through the HDC database seeking OTPs have come to the attention of the authorities, police said.
The case is under investigation, police said.
The HDC database hack and scam messages come after previous scams where money was stolen by messaging people under HDC's name from various phone numbers.
Police have always appealed against sharing critical information such as OTPs regardless of the close relationship with the person appearing to make the request.
