Nasheed meets King Charles

Former President Mohamed Nasheed met with King Charles III at the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

He met Charles in his capacity as Secretary General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF).

The meeting comes a week after Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William, son of King Charles, announced she was battling cancer.

King Charles, 75, also revealed in early February that he was undergoing treatment for cancer.

CVF is an international organization established in 2009 under the leadership of President Nasheed and the Maldives.

The first meeting of the group was held in November 2009, in Maldives. At that time, the group had 10 member countries.

The CVF currently has 58 member countries, including countries in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Pacific.
