Maldivians will patrol Maldivian borders and others don't have to be concerned about it, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said.
He was speaking on Friday night at the ceremony in Noonu Maafaru to inaugurate the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Air Corps.
"This vast territory is a blessing to brighten the present and the future of our children and grandchildren. It should be our responsibility to look after this territory," Muizzu said.
He said Maldivians have the right to patrol their borders and that Maldivians should be more concerned if other groups worry about Maldivian territories.
“It is a fact that everyone should accept today that no matter what differences we have in our opinions, we should put Maldivian ideology and Maldivian identity first,” he said.
He reiterated that Maldives is a big country and that Maldivians should stop falsely believing that Maldives is a small country.
