Fenaka Corporation has said that efforts are underway to resume water service in Addu city by transporting spare parts from the capital Male'.
Addu, which is the second-most populous city in the Maldives, has been without running water since Thursday.
The VFD pump of the plant, which is essential to supply water to 20,500 people, was damaged, according to Fenaka.
It is the REN-regulating part of the water supply system. It regulates the amount and speed of water released from the pump.
"With the VFD transported today, the work to resume operating the water plant is progressing at a fast pace," Fenaka said in a post on X.
