Solih requests new government to continue projects

The outgoing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has requested the new government of President-Elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to continue development projects started during his term.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Solih said he would ask two things from the next government - continue development projects without interruption and implement good governance.

"I have two requests from the new government. One is to practice good governance. The other is to continue the work started for the development of the country," he said.

Solih said he would discuss with Muizzu to continue the projects launched by his government, noting that many projects have been initiated for the benefit of the people and the development of the country.

Muizzu won the second round of the presidential election with 54 percent of the vote while Solih received 46 percent.
