Male' city's deputy mayor Ahmed Nareesh has been accused of threatening Home Minister Imran Abdulla.
Imran's Adhaalath Party (AP) said that Nareesh insulted and threatened the Home Minister at the polling station in Ghiyasuddin School.
AP accused the opposition of intimidation since Friday night. Voting in the runoff round of the presidential election began on Saturday morning.
The party called on the opposition to stop intimidation and harassment.
But Nareesh denied the allegation and called it a "blatant lie."
Meanwhile, two MPs from the ruling party have also been assaulted on Saturday, But the opposition denies any involvement.
