The Met office has predicted bad weather with heavy rainfall in the southern atolls for the rest of the week.
An official told Adhadhu that torrential rain and thunderstorms are expected between Laamu atoll and Addu city this week.
A yellow alert issued by the Met office today warned of wind gusts of 45 miles per hour.
But the Met office official said the weather will improve after Thursday.
The Met office advised caution over the predicted thunderstorms, high winds and rough seas.
