A group has attacked a plain-clothes police officer on a road in Hulhumale’.
An eyewitness told Adhadhu that five people were involved in the attack. The group went inside flat number 53 after the attack.
An Adhadhu reporter said that police were active inside the flat and the surrounding areas.
Police said that four suspects were detained and that investigations were underway.
The injured police officer is being treated at the Hulhumale' hospital.
Seven men were arrested in September last year for an attack on two police officers in Male’.
Later that month, a man barged into the Maafannu police station and threatened to kill an officer. He was arrested, prompting members of his group to gather near the station.
Police commissioner Mohamed Hameed warned that those who gathered near the station would also be punished.
“Groups that commit organized crimes and spread fear will be punished,” he tweeted.
