Fathimath Ameeza has been appointed as the Commissioner General of Taxation after receiving unanimous approval from the Parliament. A veteran of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority for 16 years, she previously served as Deputy Commissioner. She succeeds Hassan Zareer, who resigned to become the Finance Minister.

The People's Majlis unanimously approved Fathimath Ameeza as the new Commissioner General of Taxation. Nominated by President Muizzu, the current Deputy Commissioner will succeed Hassan Zareer. Ameeza received 64 votes to secure the leadership of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority.
