A pickup driver who blocked the road to unload goods without giving way to an ambulance has been fined and his license withheld.

The driver was also summoned to the police station and fined MVR 750.

A video circulating on social media shows a small pickup truck unloading goods on the road while an ambulance rings its siren.

The Transport Ministry said it is investigating the incident and will take action if necessary.

Another video, which circulated earlier, showed dozens of motorcycles and other vehicles blocking the path of an ambulance.
