Senior Political Director (SPD) of the Higher Education Ministry, Aishath Esha Ashraf, was sacked yesterday (February 9).

Her letter of dismissal was leaked on social media. It states that she was dismissed under the powers given to the President by the Constitution.

President's Office Spokesperson Heena Waleed could not be reached for comment.

Esha earlier worked at the President's Office after President Mohamed Muizzu assumed office in November 2023.
