A foreigner has died after a landing craft capsized near the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) port in Male' today.

Police said Masood Hossain, 32, of Bangladesh, died in the incident this evening.

There were 14 people on board the vessel. Some of them are being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

This is the third such incident in the past four months. Two people were killed in the June incident, and three were killed in the incident last month.
