A man who went missing from the boat that ran aground Kaashidhoo reef last night has been found dead.

Police said the 30-year-old Bangladeshi national was found during a search and rescue operation. He has been identified as MD Alamgir.

His body was found in the sea where the Faisalaa boat sank after running aground on the reef. He was pronounced dead when taken to Kaashidhoo health centre.

Police said further investigations were underway. There were 11 people on board the vessel. Ten of them were rescued.
