Male' Maldives: Football Association of Maldives has appointed Pro License coach Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) as the new head coach of the Maldives National Football Team.

Mohan began his coaching journey as an assistant coach of the national team and was part of the historic 2008 SAFF Championship triumph. He has since held multiple roles, including head coach of the Maldives U23 team and Technical Director of FAM.

FAM announced that Mohan will lead the national side in the upcoming international friendlies against Sri Lanka in Colombo, scheduled for September 6 and 9. In addition to Mohan’s appointment, FAM confirmed other key coaching roles: Ahmed Niyaz (Niya) has been named head coach of the Maldives National Futsal Team, which will compete in the upcoming AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers next month.

Meanwhile, Sobah Mohamed (Soba) has been entrusted with the Maldives U17 National Football Team, set to compete in both the SAFF U17 Championship and the AFC U17 Qualifiers.
