The Civil Court has ordered the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) to pay more than MVR 4 million to two private companies.

On Thursday, the court ordered WAMCO to pay MVR 3.48 million under its business agreement with Leo Stores and Supply Pvt.

The court ordered WAMCO to pay the amount within three months.

On Sunday, the court ordered WAMCO to pay MVR 1.21 million to Salts and Sands Pvt Ltd for the goods sold to the company.

The court ordered WAMCO to pay the amount within 15 days.

Private companies have been facing financial challenges due to non-payment by state-owned companies and government ministries.

Some of the private companies are trying to recover the money through the Civil Court.
