Amana Takaful has temporarily suspended its cashless services.
An announcement on the company's website said the cashless service was suspended due to changes in the Aasandha national health insurance scheme.
"This update impacts over 100,000 policyholders who have enjoyed seamless cashless access to medical care," the announcement said.
According to the statement, policyholders can access medical services by paying out of pocket during the temporary suspension.
"Rest assured that reimbursement claims are fully available and can be processed by contacting us through [email protected] or via Viber at 9540045," it added.
The insurance company also said efforts were underway to resume cashless services as soon as possible.
National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) introduced new rules on Friday which prevent private insurance holders from accessing Aasandha until their private insurance runs out.
Apart from Amana Takaful, several other insurance companies have also suspended their cashless services.
