The fourth individual arrested alongside three film stars during a drug operation in Vilimale' on October 8 has also been released from custody.

Police confirmed that actors Ahmed Azmeel (Azay), 44, Ismail Jumaih, 35, and Mohamed Vishan (Roman), 29, as well as Shahil Mohamed, 42, were released following the conclusion of the investigation phase.

All four suspects tested positive for illicit substances. The results indicated the presence of methamphetamine and two other types of synthetic drugs.

Azay and Jumaih were previously married to two sisters from the same family. Among the group, Azay has the longest career in the film industry, while Roman is the most recent to enter the profession.

Shahil, the fourth suspect, had previously been held in remand pending trial for a case involving two kilograms of drugs. He was released earlier after the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office requested his release on conditions.

Ahmed Shafeeu, Public Prosecutor at the PG Office, told Adhadhu that while cases against two other individuals involved in the two-kilogram drug bust have concluded, Shahil’s case is currently at the closing statement stage. He clarified that the request for Shahil's conditional release was based on his lengthy period in detention and his medical condition.
