Muizzu set for official visit to Pakistan

President Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Pakistan later this month.

Adhadhu understands that the President is expected to arrive in Pakistan on October 20. However, the government has yet to officially confirm the dates of the visit.

The President’s upcoming trip follows a visit to Pakistan last month by a delegation of 16 members from the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC). This delegation was led by the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

During that visit, Speaker Abdul Raheem met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir. In addition to his role as army chief, Munir holds the highest military rank in Pakistan.

Reports of the President’s scheduled visit to Pakistan come as former President Mohamed Nasheed and former Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail travelled to India,
