Cabinet Meeting

A cabinet working session was held at the President's Office today to discuss accelerating the implementation of the government's ongoing development projects.

According to the President's Office, cabinet members and heads of state-owned enterprises held discussions during the meeting, sharing the latest updates on President Mohamed Muizzu’s presidential pledges and development projects currently underway across all islands of the Maldives.

The President's Office stated that Muizzu instructed the cabinet to resume stalled projects at a heightened pace, following the implementation of solutions to address supply chain disruptions caused by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

Furthermore, the President emphasised the importance of working with renewed vigour and collaboration to ensure individual projects are completed within their designated timelines.

Local councils have been reporting that numerous government projects across various islands have come to a standstill. These include both initiatives launched by the current administration and projects carried over from the previous government.

Muizzu has previously assured that all projects initiated by his administration will be completed within his five-year term. However, public scepticism is growing regarding the government's ability to fulfil its pledge to provide comprehensive housing solutions.
