A man has been arrested in Dhaalu Meedhoo on suspicion of brewing and consuming alcohol.

Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Abdulla Naseer. According to the authorities, he was taken into custody on September 23.

During a search of his residence, police discovered substances suspected to be alcohol, along with equipment used for the production of illicit liquor.

Following his arrest, the suspect was produced before the court, which ordered him to be remanded in custody for 10 days.

The police confirmed that the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
