Victory Sports Club lead the Dhivehi Premier League 2026/27 standings as the league enters a three-week break, with the ten-team competition set to resume on 9 October 2026.
Victory sit at the top of the table on goal difference, ahead of Club Eagles and New Radiant Sports Club. All three teams have won their opening two matches and collected six points, with Victory holding a goal difference of +5, followed by Eagles on +4 and New Radiant on +3.
Odi Sports Club occupy fourth place, followed by Maziya Sports and Recreation, Dhidhdhoo Sports Club, Biss Buru Sports Club and TC Sports Club from fifth to eighth. Each of the five teams has recorded three points from their opening fixtures.
Buru Sports Club and Gadhadhoo Football Team remain without a point, with both teams yet to register a victory in the competition.
This season marks the first time the Dhivehi Premier League is being played in a home-and-away format, introducing a new structure to the country’s top-flight football competition.
Gadhdhoo have played all three of their opening matches at home, suffering defeats against New Radiant Sports Club, TC Sports Club and Club Eagles.
Meanwhile, Dhidhdhoo Sports Club made a positive start to their Premier League debut, securing a 1–0 victory over Buru Sports Club.
New Radiant End Maziya’s 46-Match Unbeaten League Run
The most notable result of the opening round came when New Radiant Sports Club defeated Maziya Sports and Recreation 3–2, ending Maziya’s remarkable 46-match unbeaten run in the Dhivehi Premier League.
After four years and five months, covering approximately two and a half seasons, Maziya finally suffered a league defeat. Their previous loss in the competition came against Club Eagles, who recorded a 1–0 victory in 2022. Maziya won last five league titles, and notably their last two league triumph without facing a defeat.
The result also marked New Radiant’s first league victory over Maziya since 2018, bringing an end to a long wait for a win against the reigning league force.
Despite the defeat, Maziya had previously defeated New Radiant in the Charity Shield and Cup Winners’ Cup, winning both matches on penalties. New Radiant’s 3–2 league victory therefore represented a significant result in the early stages of the 2026/27 campaign.
With the league now entering its three-week break due to National Team Matches in FIFA International Window, Victory, Club Eagles and New Radiant remain level on points at the top, while the teams below them prepare for the next phase of the first home-and-away Dhivehi Premier League season.
