Jameela Ali Khalid has been appointed as the High Commissioner of the Maldives to the United Kingdom.
President Mohamed Muizzu presented the letter of appointment to Jameela during a special ceremony held at the President's Office today.
A long-serving professional in the Maldivian education sector, Jameela also brings extensive experience in foreign service. She has previously served as the Maldivian Ambassador to Germany.
In addition to her diplomatic career, Jameela has also served as the President of the Civil Service Commission.
The position of High Commissioner to the UK became vacant following the appointment of the former High Commissioner, Dr. Iruthisham Adam, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
