President Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to President Donald Trump, the U.S. Government, and the American people on the occasion of the 250th Independence Day of the United States.
In his congratulatory message, Muizzu noted that this is a particularly significant year for both nations, as it also marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the United States.
The President highlighted that the enduring partnership between the two countries over the past six decades has been strengthened by mutual respect, lasting friendship, and a shared commitment to promoting global peace and prosperity.
"Maldives deeply values its partnership with the United States and remains committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including security and defence, trade and economic development, education, and people-to-people exchanges," he stated.
Since the current administration took office, high-level officials from both countries have held numerous meetings, including several visits to the Maldives by senior officials from the United States Navy.
