The Maldives Financial Expo, organized by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), officially commenced today.

President Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the expo, which is scheduled to continue at Hulhumale' Central Park until Saturday.

According to the government, this marks the first time in nine years that all stakeholders within the Maldivian financial sector have gathered in one venue for such an event.

The theme for this year’s expo is "Empowering Sustainable Futures: Inclusion, Innovation, and Intelligence."

Participants in the expo include commercial banks, insurance companies, financial service providers, and regulatory bodies, alongside several key government institutions.

Organizers have announced a grand prize of MVR 25,000 for one lucky winner selected from among the visitors. Various other prizes will also be awarded to attendees throughout the event.

The prizes featured at the expo include modern gadgets, cash rewards, and holiday packages. Five iPads will be given away via lucky draw each day. Additionally, two MacBook Airs and two pairs of Apple AirPods are among the prizes available for winners.

To further promote financial literacy, the event will feature gift cards of various denominations as cash prizes. These include three MVR 5,000 gift cards, twelve MVR 1,000 gift cards, and thirty MVR 500 gift cards. Furthermore, seven MVR 5,000 commemorative banknotes will be issued daily.

One of the most exclusive prizes offered is a three-night full-board holiday package for two at Araaik Beach Village in Hoarafushi. The MMA stated that these incentives are designed to bolster public interest and engagement with the financial sector.
