Tree Top Hospital successfully concluded its second multi-speciality health camp of the year in Laamu Gan this past weekend.
The hospital reported an overwhelming response from the residents of Laamu Atoll for the camp, which was held in collaboration with Gan Regional Hospital, the Gan Island Council, and the Gan Women’s Development Committee. According to the hospital, a total of 492 patients received consultations and treatment from specialist doctors during the two-day event.
Tree Top Hospital stated that this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to provide accessible, high-quality specialist healthcare to communities across the Maldives. The hospital highlighted that such camps allow residents to consult with specialists in their own islands, eliminating the need to travel to Male' for medical care.
The medical team in Gan included specialists in cardiology, endocrinology and diabetes, ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology. In addition to patient consultations, the team conducted health screenings and provided information to raise public health awareness.
Beyond clinical consultations, a special session was held for students in Gan to promote healthy lifestyles and health awareness. Furthermore, a dedicated training session was conducted for the nursing staff at Gan Regional Hospital to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance their professional skills.
This marks the 18th multi-speciality health camp conducted by Tree Top Hospital across various regions of the Maldives. Similar successful camps have previously been held in Meemu, Dhaalu, Thaa, Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Haa Alifu, Laamu, and Shaviyani Atolls.
