Maldives Customs Service has seized a shipment of vape cartridges smuggled into the country via sea.

Customs stated that the seizure was made during a special operation conducted at the Male’ Commercial Harbor.

"During this operation, a shipment declared as general cargo was inspected, and a large quantity of concealed vapes was discovered. A total of 5,600 vape cartridges were found and have now been taken into customs custody," the agency said.

Customs has released a video showing the confiscated vape cartridges. However, the authorities have not disclosed the identity of the company involved in the attempted illegal import.
