The Criminal Court has scheduled a hearing regarding a petition filed to recover equipment seized by police during a raid on the Adhadhu newsroom.
The raid followed a criminal investigation into the documentary "Aisha," which was published on Adhadhu's social media platforms.
Police entered the Adhadhu office with a court order on April 27. After a four-hour operation, authorities confiscated 20 electronic devices, including laptops and hard drives.
Following the legal challenge submitted by Adhadhu, the court has scheduled the hearing for June 23 at 09:00 am.
Aabout 10 officers participated in the raid on the newsroom, including an officer armed with a taser.
Two of the our journalists were recently jailed after being accused of violating a court order that prohibited discussions regarding the "Aisha" documentary.
Furthermore, our CEO Hussain Fiyaz Moosa and Editor Hassan Mohamed are currently facing ongoing legal proceedings in connection with the case.
