Preparations are underway to hold the first session of the MDP National Council tomorrow night, presided over by former President Mohamed Nasheed following his victory in the party’s chairperson election.
Adhadhu understands that the proposal to convene the National Council was put forward by Nasheed via the official WhatsApp group for council members.
Following the proposal, members expressed their support by adding their names to the attendance list. However, the agenda for the meeting has not yet been disclosed.
Before tomorrow’s formal session, Nasheed is scheduled to hold an informal meeting with National Council members tonight at 9:00 pm at the MDP main hall in Male'.
This marks the first meeting of the National Council since the chairperson election. Nasheed secured the position with a landslide 69 percent of the vote, while his opponent, Galolhu South MP Meekail Ahmed Naseem, received 30 percent.
