The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has decided to bring forward the date of its national congress.
While the PNC congress was originally scheduled for late this year, the party’s council passed a resolution to hold the event earlier during a meeting held last night.
Despite the decision to expedite the congress, it remains unclear who proposed the motion or the reasons behind the change in schedule.
Following the meeting, Baarah MP Ibrahim Shujau posted on social media, noting that President Mohamed Muizzu had submitted a proposal during the session.
"President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu submitted a proposal to the council tonight, which was passed unanimously. The party’s council meetings will now be held more frequently," he said.
