Yousuf Waheed removed from HDC board

Yousuf Waheed has been removed from the Board of Directors of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), which holds the legal authority to appoint and dismiss members of state-owned enterprise boards, has confirmed the decision.

No official reason has been disclosed for his removal effective today. 

Yousuf Waheed had been serving as a board member of HDC since September 2024. Despite his removal from this position, he continues to serve as the Chief Internal Auditor at the SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC).

Yousuf Waheed holds a Master of Professional Accounting and Finance from the University of South Australia, as well as a Bachelor of Business Management in Finance.

A prominent figure in the Maldivian accounting sector, Yousuf Waheed is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives).
